JAMES MOONEY
James Mooney grew up in Downingtown, PA, and currently lives in Yeadon, PA. He attended Lehigh University, where he earned a BA in Theatre and an M. Ed. in Elementary Education. He has been a teacher at Aldan Elementary School in the William Penn School District since 2003, where he has taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Third Grade, and where he currently teaches Sixth Grade.
James has enjoyed being a Camp Jamison counselor since 2016 and is looking forward to celebrating his 5th summer in 2020. His adventures at Camp Jamison have been meaningful and powerful experiences as Camp Jamison is a natural extension of the work that James does throughout the school year working with students. James enjoys the sense of community and continuity from year to year that creates Camp Jamison’s family atmosphere. He also appreciates the extremely healthy (physically, mentally, and emotionally) activities of getting out in nature, swimming in the Delaware River, hiking through woods, climbing up mountains, and canoeing on a pond that Camp Jamison offers both its campers and its counselors.
James is thrilled and honored to have joined Camp Jamison’s Board of Directors in 2019, and looks forward to being involved with Camp Jamison for years to come.
